A guy that loves to take pictures, travel, read non-fiction books and keep up on current events.
Who am I? Most photographers will tell you about their passion for photography and how it blossomed into a full time occupation. I am no different. The seed was planted for me in the sixth grade when I received a Kodak Instamatic camera for Christmas. By high school I had advanced to 35mm and was on the year book staff and spending hours in the darkroom. In college I started shooting weddings using medium format cameras. During my college years I was also traveling the world as the photographer for the Lansing based Suitcase Theatre. Photography is a God given gift and talent that has became a lifetime passion. My passion for photography never waned as I graduated from Michigan State University and spent a career in operational management positions in banking and real estate. Throughout the years I have continued to photograph weddings, high school seniors, events and real estate. In the spring of 2013 I left the business world to do what some say I should have done 40 years before. I am devoting a full time career to the gift that God has given with a primary focus on real estate and builder photography. Mid-Michigan has always been my home, having grown up in southwest Lansing. I am a graduate of Lansing J. W. Sexton High School, attended Lansing Community College and graduated from Michigan State University. We lived in the Lansing suburb of Haslett for nearly 30 years and moved to the Kalamazoo area in 2017.
I am honored that the architectural image, on the cover page, which I entered into the Professional Photographers of American annual International Photographic Competition in 2014, was judged as one of the "Best of the Best" and became a part of their Loan Collection. The image was displayed at Imaging USA in February 2015, and included in a book published in 2015. Thank you to both the Realtor and homeowner for providing me with the opportunity to create this image.
